The A-League is the premier Australian domestic football (soccer) competition. The league is contested by seven teams covering Australia's major cities and regional centres, as well as one representing New Zealand. The 2007/08 Grand finalists, Newcastle Jets and Central Coast Mariners will kick start their 08/09 season preparation with a Grand Final Re-Match at Canberra Stadium prior to the start of The Pre-Season Cup.
